The most visible way we address diversity, equity, and inclusion is on our social media platforms. We highlight occasions like Black History Month, Women’s History Month, awareness months, religious observations, and so much more. We also shine a light on people who are doing important things in the community and around the state.
But the most important ways we address diversity, equity, and inclusion are out in the real world. It’s when we sponsor and attend an event like the A.G. Gaston Conference that helps connect business owners, community leaders, and everyone who believes in empowering African Americans. Or when we work with Habitat for Humanity, the Salvation Army, or the Jimmie Hale Mission. And when we facilitate financial education seminars with high school and college students across the state. And certainly when we sponsor a behind-the-scenes workshop at the Red Mountain Theatre Company for students of all ages.
